The South East Regional Organised Crime Unit has the capacity and the capability to tackle serious organised crime and provide specialist support to police forces in Thames Valley, Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex and Kent.

Following an ACPO meeting the Chief Constables agreed to align regional serious organised crime units and to create synergy with the existing counter terrorism regional structure. It was further been agreed that there should be an overarching command extending across both regional units

Assistant Chief Constable Laura Nicholson is in overall command of the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit and Counter Terrorism Unit functions for the five forces. She represents Thames Valley Police and the south-east region nationally, continuing to build links with ACPO, the National Crime Agency and key agencies and stakeholders.

From the 1 April 2014 Thames Valley Police was selected to be the host Force for SEROCU.
